EMPR 200

Hello! My name is Margaret and I am a second year ECON major. I love sailing in Kingston and participating in the Queen’s Yoga Club.

I’m interested in learning about employment relations as I embark on different workplace experiences. I am applying to summer jobs now and knowledge of employment in Canada would benefit my ability to succeed in any workplace! I’m interested in learning about workers rights and how those change between different types of employment.

  1. Hi Margaret,

I am a third year DEVS distance student, residing in the GTA. If I could do things again I think ECON would have been something I’m interested in, in my first year I took intro to Macroeconomics and it was great. I lived in Kingston for about 5 years (Grade 5-9), if you enjoy being on the water then I recommend the 1,000 Island day cruise.
I too am interested to learn about employment relations. Personally, I am excited about the upcoming talks on unions.

  2. Hey Margaret!

I’m also interested in learning about worker’s rights as well as employer-employee relations, particularly between unionized and non-unionized workplaces. I’m also job-hunting right now, but I’m confident that this course will help us in our future workplaces!

  3. Hi Margaret,

Thank you for sharing! I hope you are enjoying this semester so far. Are you on the Queen’s varsity sailing team? I have numerous friends on the team who absolutely love it! I think this course will definitely be a wonderful way to learn more about employment in Canada and I love that you are looking to make comparisons between workers rights in different occupations.
    Good luck this semester!
